Laser Therapy in Lawrenceville, GA

Laser Therapy is a drug free, pain free, surgery free treatment option. Laser therapy utilizes specific wavelengths of light to create therapeutic effects such as, improved healing time, pain reduction, and decreased swelling. This option is available to treat many issues, including osteoarthritis, soft tissue injury, and chronic wounds. Improvement is seen over a period of several treatments, although improvement seen with only one or two treatments is not unlikely. Patients typically express greater comfort and mobility within a day after receiving laser treatment.

Laser therapy treatment requires no patient sedation or restraint which creates a more relaxing treatment environment. Laser therapy is often used with other forms of therapy, including drug therapy and acupuncture. All laser therapy is performed by our K-laser certified technicians. Ophthalmology

The Veterinarians at Premier Veterinary Hospital have years of experience treating eye conditions in pets, including glaucoma, removal of eyelid masses and more. If you suspect your pet has an eye condition, we’re happy to conduct an examination and make a recommendation based on our findings. If we feel that your pet needs to see a specialist, we will make a recommendation.

Reproduction

If you need help with dog breeding, look no further than the experts at Premier Veterinary Hospital. Our skilled Veterinarians will assess your pet’s health to ensure that they’re in good physical condition to breed and deliver a healthy litter.

To ensure your pet is healthy enough for reproduction, we offer extensive prenatal services including:

  • Breeding soundness exams (including a physical exam of reproductive organs, semen evaluation, mating ability, and libido)
  • Disease screening (such as OFA evaluations, EIC testing, embryology testing)
  • Ovulation timing

Once pregnant, prenatal care includes as little or as much involvement from us as needed for your pet. She will have different nutritional needs, a different exercise routine, and other minor changes that could be overlooked by owners inexperienced with the breeding process. If, however, you are a veteran in dog breeding, you can contact us only when needed. When your pet’s time comes to give birth, we can be there to administer any care needed, including performing C-sections and postnatal care.

Front Feline Declaw

While scratching is a natural tendency for our feline companions, it can be destructive. If you are considering declaw surgery for your cat, please know it is usually better to declaw your cat when they are younger. Declaw surgery generally involves the surgical removal of the claw and all or a portion of the last bone in each digit. We will provide you with thorough post-operative instructions to ensure that your cat makes a quick recovery.

If you’re considering declawing your cat and want to learn more about the procedure, please call us at (770) 339-9080.

Tail Docking/Declaw Removal

Tail docking and declaw removal services will only be performed on puppies that are a few days old. Typically, these procedures are not performed under anesthesia and are only performed on certain breeds. If your pet has a medical condition that warrants tail docking or dew claw removal, we will discuss the procedure at length and your pet will be placed under anesthesia.

Health Certificates

If you have plans to travel or move with your pet internationally, visit Premier Veterinary Hospital to get your pet a health certificate. A certificate of veterinary inspection is often required by foreign countries when animals are brought across borders into other countries. Obtaining this certificate may be a short, one day process or may take several months depending on the number of pets you have and the species. Our veterinarians are accredited by the USDA to issue domestic and international Certificates of Veterinary Inspections for dogs & cats.

What is the process to obtain a health certificate?

Health certificate requirements vary based on your travel destination. We will help you determine the health requirements based on the USDA’s website. Additionally, we will make sure that your pet is current on their rabies vaccine and proof of rabies vaccination as that is required regardless of your travel destination. We can only issue certificates for vaccines that a Premier Veterinary Hospital veterinarian has given.

Our goal is to make the health certificate process as easy as possible for our clients. If you are coming in for a health certificate, please call us with answers to the questions below in advance of your appointment if possible. This will ensure that our team can research the requirements before your exam and best serve you during your appointment time.

Questions to consider in advance:

  • What breed of dog or cat do you have?
  • Where are you going to and is this a permanent move or a vacation?
  • Does your pet have a 15-digit ISO-Standard microchip?
  • Does your dog or cat have a current rabies vaccination?
  • When are you planning to leave for your travels?

Please note that documentation for international travel may need to be endorsed by the USDA-APHIS office after it has been signed by our veterinarians. Laboratory testing or submission of documents before travel may also be other requirements depending on your destination. We will do our very best to make the legal documentation part of your trip quick and easy, we are often confined by the legal requirements of the destination.
